The Dutch Fashion Foundation was present in Florence with a dazzling team of Dutch designers and fashion brands, inspirational fashion photography, cookery and all style music during the ‘Dutch Touch Fashion and Photography Experience’. Couture dresses, 3D accessories, fashionable fair trade sneakers, exclusive hats and fascinators, menswear and womenswear and inspirational fashion photography were presented on the evening of Wednesday January 14th 2015 at the five-star Hotel Savoy in Florence during the Pitti Uomo trade fair.

Angélique Westerhof, director of the Dutch Fashion Foundation, presented an outlook on the Dutch fashion sector, known for its diversity and young and dazzling image. During the evening, thirteen fine brands show items of their collections: creators of elegant and innovative men’s fashion like NŌN by KIM, tailors of custom-made business wear such as The Makers and Circle of Gentlemen. Then, Marcha Hüskes, Ready to Fish by ILJA and BYBROWN, designers of beautiful women’s fashion. As to accessories, Eudia shows original hats and fascinators, while goldsmith SeeMe exposes jewelry created with antique techniques from the five continents in a singular fusion of luxury and fair trade. The authentic and elegant jewelry of DE PARME with the ‘leaves’ collection, made by Röell are presented by the designer this evening. TouchéToday inspires with 3D innovative accessories and MIPACHA showed that it is possible to lounge a very fashionable, colorful, yet fair trade sneaker brand. Finally, Edwin Oudshoorn and ILJA presented their couture pieces.

The ‘Dutch Touch Fashion and Photography Experience’ presented a combination of fashion and photography with a  photo gallery giving an overview of the ‘Dutch Touch’-campaign through the years: the creations of Dutch designers captured by great Dutch fashion photographers. The other star of the evening was master chef Fulvio Pierangelini who mixed Dutch and Italian culinary heritage in delicious bites presented all through the evening. Musical support was provided by the talented and versatile Dutch DJ Yuri Boselie, alias Cinnaman. “Like Dutch fashion, Dutch fashion photography is also original, innovative and very enjoyable”, remarked Ambassador Michiel den Hond, “The event at the Savoy is an excellent opportunity to get to know the Netherlands better through our creative industry, which is a top sector of our economy.”
