DUTCH TOUCH ROME 2007

From the 9th till the 13th of July 2007 the Dutch Fashion Foundation was present in Rome, Italy with Dutch Touch Rome 2007. With the support of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs (EVD) and in collaboration with Modint Export, AltaRoma, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Dutch Fashion Foundation organized a trade mission to Rome with several Dutch fashion labels and creatives.

During this event the participating fashion designers gave a preview of their Spring/Summer 2008 collections at the Auditorium of Rome during the AltaRomAltaModa Fashion Week and with the support and hospitality of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands a Dutch Touch Vernissage was held with tableaux vivants and an open showroom where the designers met with press and buyers from around the world. During the stay at the Embassy Joris Volker of Modint hosted a workshop about international export. The Embassy also arranged meetings with the best production companies and ateliers specialized in embroideries, cashmere and haute couture and prêt-a-porter fabrics in Prato, near Florence on the 14th and 15th of July.

 

 

The mission of Dutch Touch Rome 2007 focused on the orientation and knowledge exchange between designers and the Italian market. In the Dutch Touch Rome 2007 Campaign fashion designers Mada van Gaans, Conny Groenewegen, Joline Jolink, Daryl van Wouw and Angelos Bratis participated together with accessory designer Julie Coste, fashion and lingerie designer Marlies Dekkers, shoe designer Roswitha van Rijn, filmmaker Willem Gerritsen, graphic designer Bas Manders and photographers Sabrina Bongiovanni and Barrie Hullegie.
