ANGELOS BRATIS
Collection Spring/Summer 2007
Dutch-trained fashion designer Angelos Bratis was born in Athens. Bratis emphasizes on detailing while keeping forms simple and pure. He designs with passion, movement and function and adores the bias cut and fine natural materials. Starting point for his feminine creations are classicism and geometry. The art-deco movement of the 1930’s inspired his spring/summer 2007 collection. Geometrical patterns are transformed into three-dimensional fluid shapes. Cotton and silk on a white base ‘canvas’ highlighted by flashes of fuchsia, purple and watermelon red are creating an electro-magnetic atmosphere. Hexagon stamps and crossing squares are meeting stripes, playing with transparency and shadows. His collections are sold in Athens, Paris and Rome.
