JOLINE JOLINK
Collection Spring/Summer 2007
Fashion designer Joline Jolink launched her label j o l i n e j o l i n k during the Amsterdam Fashion Week in January 2006. Joline strives to create comfort in her designs. Comfort, but also sensuality, by using high quality, natural fabrics and feminine silhouettes. Jolink’s style is by its simplicity and graphical touch surprisingly modern.
The j o l i n e j o l i n k S/S 2007-collection characterizes itself by the use of an exciting print design, chic denims and comfortable natural materials which will give this classy collection the freshness of the wind blowing through your hair on a 70’s summer boat trip. Joline’s inspiration for this new collection came from her moving to the riverside of the IJ in Amsterdam where she can see boats sail by. Don’t take this to literary – there are no sailor outfits in this collection – but there is the classy feeling and colours of fancy yacht boats. Their silver metal, beige rope and white and blue lacquered wood have become the base colours of this collection. The style is feminine, sensual but still well-dressed, comfortable and classy. It contains great volumes – brought back to the body with waist-wraps – in contrast with tight, lank silhouettes. A returning detail is a simple elastic – enlarged, reduced, moved or alienated - which inspired Joline to manipulate materials into the most female and comfortable shapes. Materials of cotton-jerseys, washed silks, linen and denims in dark blue, white, beige and silver combined in print with bright orange.
