Collection Spring/Summer 2010 'FLORISH ODALISK'
Florish Odalisk is the name of the new collection of Mattijs van Bergen. Mattijs gaines his inspiration by the beautiful palette of flowers which is visible at the start of spring/summer. The influence of flowers is noticeable in the shape of the designs as well as the colours used for his spring/summer 2010 collection. The feminine and fluent collection designed by Mattijs is soft, elegant and sets an athmosphere where every woman would like to be wrapped in. The colourful statements in the collection are a strong representation of the flower palette whereby the attention of the viewer will be maintaned. Soft silks melt around the body, whereby the body and the fine fabric alsmost merge together. The airy constructions in the designs breathe the spring softness and the flowering colour palette captures the beloved summer feeling.
This spring/summer collection is Mattijs' fourth full ready-to-wear collection since graduating from Central Saint Martin's College in London in 2007. Internationally Mattijs is noticed for his sophisticated, colourful and young collections. Over the past season Mattijs has presented his ideas in projects as "Gone with the Wind' exhibition at the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen and in various parts of the Arnhem Mode Biennale. He also created a costume for the dance company Introdans.
